Incoming Students 2011 - 2012
The Edwards MBA Program administers a number of awards and bursaries for incoming students. Awards have specific criteria based on academic achievement, financial need, and student background. These will be awarded in September of each year. The School will advertise these awards through e-mail to the student body. The following are available to students entering the MBA program:

Edwards School of Business MBA Entrance Award
Award Value: one award valued at $10,000
Application Deadline: Applications will be accepted up until July 9th at 4:30 p.m.
Dean Taras MBA Entrance Prize
This award was established through a donation from Daphne Taras. This award is open to students entering the Edwards MBA Program at the University of Saskatchewan. Selection will be made on the basis of overall merits of the admission package, as determined by the Award Committee. There is no application necessary for this prize. All accepted students who submit an application by the deadline date and whom have confirmed their attendance with a tuition deposit will be considered.
Award Value: One award valued at $1,000
The recipient will be notified by the end of August 2011.
Dean Taras MBA Entrance Award
This award was established through a donation from Daphne Taras. This award is open to students entering the Edwards MBA Program at the University of Saskatchewan. To be eligible, candidates must demonstrate financial need. Selection will be made on the basis of overall merits of the admission package, as determined by the Award Committee. All accepted students who submit an application by the deadline date and whom have confirmed their attendance with a tuition deposit will be considered.
Application Deadline: July 8th, 2011
Award Value: One award valued at $9,000
The recipient will be notified by the end of August 2011.
The Beryl and Don Murphy Academic Achievement Award

Description: This award was established from a gift from Penney Murphy in honour of her parents. Its purpose is to recognize academically successful students with professional work experience wishing to pursue a MBA degree at the University of Saskatchewan. There is no application form. All accepted students who have confirmed their attendance with a tuition deposit will be considered.
Award Value: One award valued at $1,000
Eligibility: This award is open to students entering the Edwards MBA Program at the University of Saskatchewan. To be eligible, applicants must:
- Have at least three years of related professional work experience that followed the completion of their undergraduate degree program
- Submit a resume of their related professional work experience
- Have a minimum GPA entrance average of 75% as per the admission requirement of the MBA program.
Selection will be based on academic achievement, as determined by the Award Committee.
The recipient will be notified by the end of August 2011.
Scotiabank Aboriginal Business Education Award

This award has been established from a donation from the Scotiabank to support an award for an aboriginal graduate student pursuing studies in the Master of Business Administration Program at the University of Saskatchewan. Application to this award is open to Aboriginal students who have been accepted for admission to the Master of Business Administration Program at the University of Saskatchewan. To be eligible applicants must demonstrate financial need, as determined by the Award Committee. Selection will be based on the quality of the application package submitted for admission to the MBA Program, as determined by the Award Committee.
Award Value: Three (3) awards valued at $10,000 each
Application Deadline: Applications must be received by July 15, 2011. Completed Applications can be faxed to 966-8812 or dropped off at the MBA office.

Individuals requesting to be considered for this award must forward a letter requesting consideration.

All applicants will be required to provide documentation verifying their Aboriginal ancestry, which included applicants of Indian, Inuit or Metis ancestry.
