PotashCorp Chair Announcement

The PotashCorp Chair for Saskatchewan Enterprise
(established by PotashCorp in 1998)

The Edwards School of Business, University of Saskatchewan is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Brooke Dobni, B. Comm (Sask), MBA (Sask), Ph.D. (Bradford) as the PotashCorp Enhancement Chair for Saskatchewan Enterprise.

The Chair, funded by an endowment established by the Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan Inc. in 1998, was created to support research into Saskatchewan business and to broaden the links between students and industry.  It was created as part of PotashCorp’s $5 million donation to the University of Saskatchewan, which also established the PotashCorp Centre at the Edwards School of Business.

The chair is designed to encourage:

  • Applied research in all aspects of Saskatchewan enterprise
  • Dissemination of this research to students, Saskatchewan businesses and in the broader global environment; and
  • Opportunities for students to contribute to and learn from Saskatchewan enterprise.

Dr. Brooke Dobni has been with the Edwards School of Business since 1989, where he teaches Corporate Strategy and Venture Management.  During this time he has also served as the Director of the College’s Business Consulting Services program, developed and delivered executive management programs, and has provided consulting services to many Saskatchewan organizations through Business Advisory Services.  These activities have been focused on helping Saskatchewan organizations meet the challenges and opportunities faced in increasingly competitive and ever-changing business environments.  On the research side, Dr. Dobni focuses on identifying innovation enhancers, and defining the relationship between strategy, innovation, and performance in organizations.  His articles on strategy implementation models and innovation are published in some of the top academic and applied journals including the Strategic Management Journal and Business Horizons.  For more information respecting his background, please go to http://www.commerce.usask.ca/faculty/dobni
