Purchaser

Northern Steel Industries Ltd. of Tisdale, Saskatchewan is requesting applications for a Purchaser. The responsibilities associated with this position, as listed below, will be shared with one additional purchaser.

• Be responsible for the purchasing of all materials, components, and supplies to complement the NSI manufacturing process
• Ensure that all purchases meet the best price test as per required project quality
• Ensure that an accurate system of record keeping is kept current
• Maintain an adequate level of inventory at all times to support sales and customer needs
• Issue materials to work orders
• Maintain a regular and current update of steel suppliers to ensure that suppliers remain qualified
• Ensure that all services provided by the NSI procurement department meet current ISO standards
• Provide supervisory responsibilities for NSI employees reporting to the Procurement Manager

This position will be of interest to individuals having formal training and experience related to the stated duties. Strong organizational skills to ensure that best price, quality, and delivery deadlines are assured will be viewed as an asset.
